Yasunori Nishiki announced as Octopath Traveler composer
Project Octopath Traveler, the upcoming game developed by the team behind Bravely Default, recently released a Switch demo that came with a list of credits, listing Yasunori Nishiki as the lead composer. This will be a breakout role for Nishiki, who most recently contributed to Gravity Daze 2 as a synth programmer. Note that “Octopath Traveler” is only the working title for the game at the moment; the actual title has not yet been confirmed.

Octopath Traveler seems to be modeled after old-school JRPGs, but with some gorgeous, stylized graphics and a unique battle system. The music caught our attention at VGMO when we first heard a demo preview, and we are looking forward to hearing the complete score once it’s out. While the game is scheduled to be released in 2018, there has been no word yet on the official soundtrack release.
