Robby Duguay releases original chiptune album for free

One of our latest interviewees, Robby Duguay is an emerging Toronto-based artist of games, films, and original albums. In a short time, he has already made several remarkable projects: creating a glitchy accompaniment to We Are Doomed, contrasting serenity and chaos on Fate Tectonics, and even releasing two volumes of chiptune arrangements of Christmas carols. This week, he has released his latest work.

9 Songs in PICO-8 is an original album featuring nine original chiptune tracks. All the songs were created on a fantasy console, the PICO-8, using a four-channel, 8-bit tracker. The release can be purchased on a name-your-price basis through Duguay’s Bandcamp now.

About the Author

I've contributed to websites related to game audio since 2002. In this time, I've reviewed over a thousand albums and interviewed hundreds of musicians across the world. As the founder and webmaster of VGMO -Video Game Music Online-, I hope to create a cutting-edge, journalistic resource for all those soundtrack enthusiasts out there. In the process, I would love to further cultivate my passion for music, writing, and generally building things. Please enjoy the site and don't hesitate to say hello!
