Nintendo posts videos of special rock band and big band performances
Last weekend, Nintendo held the Nintendo Switch Experience Meeting 2017 in Tokyo. The event gave gamers an opportunity to try upcoming Nintendo Switch games and also revealed plenty of new information about the console’s games. Ninendo broadcast special concerts for rock band and big band at the start and end of the events. Both performances can be enjoyed below.
The rock band performance featured music from Nintendo’s recent hits, Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Mario Kart 8, as well as a preview of the upcoming Splatoon 2. Arranged by Tetsuya Ouyama, the music was performed by a specially-assembled five-piece rock band. The following tracks were featured:
Splatoon: Splattack!, Seaskape, Friend List, High Tide Era)
Xenoblade Chronicles: Mechanical Rhythm, You Will Know Our Names
Mario Kart 8: Big Blue, Excitebike Arena, DS Wario Stadium, Bowser’s Castle, Electrodrome
Splatoon 2: Ink-oming by Wet Floor
The second performance featured lively performances from an 18-piece big band, arranged by Masanori Sasaji. It provided a wider celebration of Nintendo’s music with successive medleys dedicated to Donkey Kong, Kirby, Animal Crossing, Zelda, Pokémon, Fire Emblem, and Super Mario. Super Mario Galaxy’s Mahito Yokota hosted the event alongside Hyadain.
