Martin O’Donnell awarded damages in Bungie dismissal settlement
On April 11, legendary Halo composer Martin O’Donnell was shockingly fired from Bungie after 14 years of serving as the company’s sound director. While the circumstances behind his firing were not reported, O’Donnell claims he was ‘terminated without cause’.
O’Donnell subsequently filed a lawsuit against Bungie and chief executive Harold Ryan for owed vacation time, paid time off, sabbatical time, and other benefits, and requests double damages. According to a new report, O’Donnell has won a legal settlement in Seattle. Harold Ryan will pay O’Donnell $95,000 for double damages and legal costs.
According to the original legal filing, O’Donnell is considering pursuing further claims against Bungie for unfair dismissal.
