Hiring call: VGMO is looking for new writers and reviewers
VGMO: Video Game Music Online is looking to appoint three new staff writers to liven up the reviews and features sections of the site. Whether you want to write about the latest AAA scores, revisit some of the classics, or put a spotlight on indie or fan-arranged productions, there are plenty of opportunities for you to make your presence felt.
Above all, we’re looking for passionate, dedicated people who can write creatively and critically about game music. Prior journalistic experience or formal musical training are not necessary. Our senior editors are happy to provide training/guidance for any newcomers that need it. Opportunities will be available for more experienced individuals to take a leadership role on the site.
From our staff members, we generally an output of approximately one review or feature per week. It is important that you are reliable and committed, as dependable turnaround is necessary for proper content scheduling on the site. If you are unable to make a regular commitment, there would be opportunities for you to write on a casual basis for us.
While this an unpaid position, there are multiple perks of writing for VGMO: regular evaluation copies and free copies of various albums, backstage passes for the latest concerts, and an insider’s look into the industry. Many of our former staff members have been able to use the skills and knowledge they learned here to become staff at leading companies such as Capcom, GameSpot, Disney, and Eminence.
To express interest for these roles, please email chris@vgmonline.net Please explain why you want to be part of the site and provide us with a review or feature sample that you think would be suitable for publishing.
