Pixel Mixers releases Clockwork: A Chrono Trigger & Cross Tribute Album

Pixel Mixers, a group of game soundtrack cover musicians, has come together under the direction of Julien Rosir (“Hashel05“) to create “Clockwork,” a tribute album dedicated to celebrating the music of the Chrono series. The Pixel Mixers community stems from the contributors and users of the Video Game Remixes subreddit, which has organized itself under the guidance of Julien and cover artist Ro P to hold regular contests and arrange albums celebrating game music and game music covers.

Clockwork is a tribute album to Yasunori Mitsuda’s work on the Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross Original Soundtrack,” says director Julien Rosir. “It is actually the seventh cover album I’ve arranged – in the beginning, I worked with the Gametabs.net community, and now it’s with the musicians on the VG Cover subreddit, under the name “Pixel Mixers.” I’m proud to say it’s our best work so far, and I’ve been lucky that these cover artists have taken the time to participate in these projects.”
Clockwork, along with the announcement for the next cover album, is available for download here through the pinned post on the VGM subreddit.

A native and lifelong Texan, I currently work in software education while contributing news, reviews, and interviews to VGMO on the side. I love the feeling that comes with the discovery of a brand new soundtrack, and always look forward to the next rekindling of that excitement. Outside of VGMO, I enjoy playing piano, listening to classical music and film scores, and trying to go unnoticed in any stealth RPG I can find.
