Chipzel releases vast soundtrack for Interstellaria

Chipzel (aka Niamh Houston) is one of today’s most popular chiptuners. Having contributed beautiful chiptune work to everything from original albums (e.g. Spectra) to collaborative projects (e.g. In Flux) to indie games (e.g. Super Hexagon EP), her latest project is something entirely different. For Interstellaria, a crowdfunded space exploration, Chipzel created a vast soundtrack exploring all sorts of colours and timbres. She said the following about the work:

Interstellaria is the first large-scale project that I’ve had the honour of being a part of. Here is the result of almost two years work, in which I took a completely new approach, in order to compliment the gameplay, but still stay true to my chippy/gaming roots. I really hope you all enjoy it and thank you for being awesome!”

Spanning some 55 tracks, the official soundtrack for Interstellaria is available on Chipzel’s Bandcamp now for 5 USD.

About the Author

I've contributed to websites related to game audio since 2002. In this time, I've reviewed over a thousand albums and interviewed hundreds of musicians across the world. As the founder and webmaster of VGMO -Video Game Music Online-, I hope to create a cutting-edge, journalistic resource for all those soundtrack enthusiasts out there. In the process, I would love to further cultivate my passion for music, writing, and generally building things. Please enjoy the site and don't hesitate to say hello!
