Austin Wintory to score crowdfunded Banner Saga 3

Earlier today, Stoic Games secured 200,000 USD through Kickstarter to create the third instalment in their Viking-inspired turn-based strategy series. And with funding now secured, series’ composer Austin Wintory will now start to pen his score for the game.

As the campaign is still in its early days, full details about Wintory’s soundtrack for The Banner Saga 3 remain to be announced. However, it is expected that he will develop on the foundations of the first two scores for the franchise, which featured rich nordic sounds brought to life by excellent ensembles and soloists.

For those considering backing the campaign, those who pledge 75 USD or above will release the digital soundtracks for all three titles in the series among other rewards. It is likely that, as with past scores in the series, The Banner Saga 3‘s soundtrack will also be separately released on Wintory’s Bandcamp.
