Andrew Aversa releases Sakimoto-inspired adventure soundtrack

OverClocked Records have released the Dungeonmans Original Soundtrack, a new retro-inspired indie soundtrack from Andrew Aversa (aka zircon). The 70-minute score is heavily inspired by the work of Hitoshi Sakimoto, particularly the Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy XII soundtracks.

From heroic battle anthems and adrenaline-pumping boss music to dark dungeon themes and restful town songs, the soundtrack pays homage to 16-bit and 32-bit classics. Each piece is synthesized with the Roland SC-88, a classic orchestral sound module chosen to hearken back to the days of high adventure on the PC and PlayStation.

Dungeonmans is the latest work from the ever-successful Aversa, whose other projects this year span the chillout original album Getaway, the Elfman-inspired orchestral soundtrack Phineas & Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension, and even some involvement with the concert tour Pokemon: Symphonic Evolutions.
