These releases continue to be rather price-y, haha. But as I’ve just started playing FFXIV I might end up having to pick this up. The sample on the website sounds pretty good.
I’m wondering how much new music will be in this Blu-ray. If it’s small amount, then it would feel like they’re milking it and it would have been better to see this patch music released together with Heavensward.
Excited to hear these and the Heavensward scores too – been playing the game a lot recently and the expansion’s music has been fantastic so far. Soken has been such a strong addition to the team! I’m wondering how much will be on here too, though – there was a definitive point after 2.0 that I started noticing new music, but not all that much, although I could easily have missed a bit. Soken’s been an incredibly strong addition to the team, though.
Technically speaking, he was always part of the team as sound director of FFXIV, but agree it was an ingenious move letting him take over as composer. While a lot of people have scored the Final Fantasy series over the years, think Soken comes the closest to expanding on the Uematsu sound.
