Yuzo Koshiro unites arcade sound pioneers for Protect Me Knight 2

Yuzo Koshiro‘s long-running game production company Ancient Co. have been busy making a fully-fledged sequel to their tower defence sleeper hit Protect Me Knight. Set to feature ten times more content than the original game, Protect Me Knight 2 also boasts an incredible musical cast. Koshiro is once again penning an 8-bit score for the title. However, he has also recruited four other names:

Hisayoshi Ogura (Ex-Taito): Darius series, The Ninja Warriors, The Legend of Kage, Zoids Infinity, Co-Founder of Zuntata
Motoaki Furukawa (Ex-Konami): Gradius series, A-Jax, Super Contra, Co-Founder of Kukeiha Club
Shinji Hosoe (Ex-Namco): Ridge Racer series, Dragon Saber, F/A, Street Fighter EX, Co-Founder of Sampling Masters
Hiroshi Kawaguchi (Sega): Hang-On, OutRun, After Burner, Fantasy Zone, Co-Founder of S.S.T. Band

In case the credits didn’t give it way, these four artists were the greatest pioneers of arcade game music, and the main stars of their respective companies and bands back in the 90s. Their contributions will no doubt make Protect Me Knight 2 a definitive homage to classic sounds.
