Mick Gordon’s Wolfenstein soundtrack conveys alternate reality

The newly-released first-person shooter Wolfenstein: The New Order puts gamers into an interesting (and controversial) 1960s alternative reality: what is Nazis won the war? Mick Gordon portrayed this scenario with an experimental guitar-focused, electro-heavy score that can be previewed below:

In addition, a series of dark yet humorous ‘Nazi pop’ songs were written to capture the twisted scenario. These ‘Neumond Hits’ include covers of artists such as the Beach Boys, the Monkees, and Sonny & Cher. In addition, heavy metal guitarist Fredrik Thordendal from Meshuggah has made contributions to the game’s soundtrack.

A digital soundtrack featuring Gordon’s music for the game can be downloaded from Google Play now. Those who pre-ordered the game through Amazon Germany will also receive the ‘Neumond Hits’ album.
