Helsinki Philharmonic to celebrate Finnish game music in concert
With the runaway success of Rovio’s Angry Birds and deeper games such as Remedy’s Alan Wake, the Finnish games industry is going. There are several legendary game composers hailing from Finland: Petri Alanko, Ari Pulkkinen, and Jonne Valtonen.
The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra will celebrate the Finnish games industry and game music scene with the concert Game On. In the course of the evening, audiences will be treated to the original scores arranged for a symphony orchestra alongside classical music pieces also featured in the games. Under the baton of Janne Nisonen, the orchestra will perform music from the games Angry Birds, Clash of Clans, Supernauts, Tiny Thief, and Alan Wake.
The concert will occur at Helsinki Music Centre’s Concert Hall from 6 PM on August 22. You can buy tickets from here. Many thanks to Nikolas Broman for the tip.
