Video Game Orchestra’s Shota Nakama forms music production company
It’s great to see one of Game Music Online’s own making great strides. Shota Nakama, who translated many of our greatest interviews, has dedicated much of the past few years to producing ‘rockestral’ concerts through Berklee’s Video Game Orchestra. In the past year, he has also moved into music production as an orchestrator and recording coordinator for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, Ace Combat 3D, and God Eater 2.
To pursue music production further, Nakama has founded the studio SoundtRec Boston. The company provides clients with the opportunity to record their music with top-class musicians. Serving Western and Eastern clients alike, the company hopes to break down barriers and develop more international collaborations.
Nakama noted in his announcement that “We can coordinate any instrumentation from a soloist, string quartet to full orchestra, choir, rhythm section or even big band in any style of music with the most highly acclaimed musicians. Upon your request, we can also provide supervisors, composers, arrangers, orchestrators, engineers and lyricists to help accomplish your projects.”
