Johto Legends Kickstarter reaches goal
Over the last few weeks, Johto Legends, an orchestral arrange Pokemon project, has been underway on Kickstarter. The project is run by Braxton Burks, who previously successfully crowd funded Kanto Symphony and Double Team, and Sebastian Wolff, founder of Materia Collective and co-founder of Loudr.
Johto Legends will be a collection of licensed arrangements from Pokemon Gold and Silver, following a trainer’s journey through the Johto region. Mockups of parts of the score are available; the final version will include recordings from seven performers, including Abzu‘s Kristin Naigus and Recore‘s Laura Intravia. Although the campaign has now been successfully funded, the Kickstarter still has a few days left, allowing a reach goal of a fully-recorded brass section.
Johto Legends has also been working with iam8bit, recently announcing a vinyl of the completed project. Backers of $90 or more will receive, in addition to the lower tier rewards, a vinyl edition of the arrange album. The projected release date of the project is this December, with a few more months expected for vinyl production. The Kickstarter is still underway here until Sunday, June 4 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
