Yuji Takenouchi’s 90s house records being re-released
On March 10, Apollo Records will release Brand New Day. This compilation features ten rare original electronic tracks penned by veteran game musician Yuji Takenouchi (Dark Souls, Mystic Warriors) during the 90s.
The compilation features music from three EPs that Takenouchi released during the late 90s under his Mr. YT moniker. Each of the component EPs was created based on different concept, namely a day of new environments in Brand New Day, yin and yang in Southern Paradise, and imaginary fragrances in Parfum. The tracks can be previewed below:
The album was created in the late 90s on a hardware set up of Roland Super Jupiter, Roland JV1080, Roland D550, Yamaha TX81Z and Akai S1100. Different from his modern works, Takenouchi reflects inspiration from the deep house artists such as Ron Trent and Chez Damier, Basic Channel, House of 909, Ian Pooley and Carl Craig.
Reflecting fan demand, Brand New Day brings the music from these rare EPs into a single ten-track album specially remastered by Alchemy’s Matt Colton. The album can be pre-ordered through various digital retailers. In addition, a ultra-limited edition vinyl art print has been made available for collectors. But with just 30 on offer, these vinyls are already sold out…
