65daysofstatic release and stream soundtrack to No Man’s Sky

On August 9, Hello Games will release their procedurally-generated open-universe space simulation title No Man’s Sky for PlayStation 4 and PC. The game features an experimental electronic/rock soundtrack by British band 65daysofstatic, as well as procedurally generated ambient music composed by Paul Weir.

65daysofstatic in collaboration with Laced Records have released the soundtrack for No Man’s Sky today. The album features ten original works, called No Man’s Sky: Music for an Interactive Universe, that provide a rich explorative sonic experience inspired by the game. Exclusive to this release is also a collection of six soundscapes and sound design.

The album can be purchased through Laced Records in multiple forms, including a digital download, a double CD album, and a to-be-released four LP vinyl. The core ten-track album can also be streamed in full through the YouTube video above as of today.

About the Author

I've contributed to websites related to game audio since 2002. In this time, I've reviewed over a thousand albums and interviewed hundreds of musicians across the world. As the founder and webmaster of VGMO -Video Game Music Online-, I hope to create a cutting-edge, journalistic resource for all those soundtrack enthusiasts out there. In the process, I would love to further cultivate my passion for music, writing, and generally building things. Please enjoy the site and don't hesitate to say hello!
