Composers revealed for Horizon Zero Dawn
Guerrilla Games, best known for their Killzone series, first premiered their upcoming game Horizon Zero Dawn last year at E3, along with their announcement of some of its composers, Joris de Man and The Flight. This year, we saw some gameplay footage from Sony’s E3 panel that featured some of the music in context, building the unique setting of the game, and a confirmation of two more artists behind the score: Julie Elven and Niels van der Leest.
Joris de Man also worked with Guerrilla Games when composing music to the Killzone series, in the process winning the first-ever Ivor Novello Award for Best Video Game Score in 2010 for his score to Killzone 2. The Flight is a music duo who has worked with a range of soundtrack composers and pop artists since 2005, picking up several awards for their work on Alien Isolation, a game sequel to the iconic Alien film. Finally, Niels van der Leest will also be contributing music to the score. van der Leest‘s previous works include Pac-Man Run, Fruit Party, and Pocket Quest. Horizon Zero Dawn will also feature the vocals of Julie Elven, as heard at the beginning and end of the gameplay trailer.
Horizon Zero Dawn is currently set for a February 2017 release date, with no word yet on the soundtrack’s release.
