Grammy winner Christopher Tin releases game soundtrack album
Christopher Tin, the world music artist behind Civilization IV‘s Grammy-winning main theme, has released his first soundtrack album. It is dedicated to Offworld Trading Company, a new real-time strategy game by his long-time friend and collaborator Soren Johnson. Tin describes the game’s music in the following:
“The game takes place on Mars, so this one is very different from my other albums… sort of a mix of ambient, minimalist, and industrial music. Processed pianos, synths, orchestra, all blended together in a retro-futurist Martian soundscape.”
The game’s 30 piece, 76 minute soundtrack is available now through Gumroad and the game can be purchased through Steam. Its opening lullaby, “Red Planet Nocturne”, can be previewed above. Look out for a review from VGMO soon.
