Gentle Love release relaxation album dedicated to Secret of Mana
Scarlet Moon Records have released the latest instalment of their Prescription for Sleep series of relaxation albums, Lullabies of Mana. Previous volumes of the series offered compilations of music from across the spectrum of video games, Lullabies of Mana pays homage solely to the SNES RPG Secret of Mana (aka Seiken Densetsu 2), composed by Hiroki Kikuta. The album is arranged and performed by GENTLE LOVE, a duo comprised of saxophonist Norihiko Hibino and pianist AYAKI.
The 12-track, 94-minute album features smooth jazz interpretations of various favourites from Secret of Mana, ordered to loosely tell the story of the game. GENTLE LOVE has additionally recorded an original composition inspired by the Mana universe titled “Memories of Mana”, which encompasses the themes of healing and Mother Earth that are featured prominently throughout Secret of Mana.
The fully-licensed album is available now via LOUDR for 10 USD. Those who purchase the album will also receive GENTLE LOVE’s tribute to late Nintendo President and CEO Satoru Iwata titled Prescription for Peace: A Tribute to the Departed at no charge. Customers will also have the opportunity to bundle the release with previous Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies albums at a discounted rate.
